Taiwan trip: day 1 Tuesday, January 12, 2010 Went to taiwan together with zhiwei, zhiyong, lye siang, priscilla and vanessa for 6 day 5 nites. Mainly was traveling in the taipei area. A bit sian that i was having sore throat all the way, but i din give up all the yummy delicacies. Definitely could have enjoyed myself more if i was 100 %. First thing first, we needed to get to our hotel. The hotel we were staying at was 国光大饭店. We took a chartered van directly back to hotel, cost us arnd TWD1800. And guess wat happen, midway thru, the van broke down n we were like stranded in the middle of the highway, on the chevron. damn cui way to start off the trip. But luckily help came quite fast and the bus was repaired. On the bus, we were discussing whether to book the uncle for the return trip to. So lye siang ask the uncle ：司机先生我们可以包你吗？ Everyone relli laugh until pengz can... like want to bao the uncle like tt. luckily the uncle oso very humourous, he replied, he too old to be bao already. Reaching the hotel, we checked in. The hotel was pretty nice and comfy. It wasnt those kind of 5 star hotel, but was equipped with basic facilities. Which was pretty sufficient,not like we are going to stay in the hotel for so long... suppose to come and walk arnd one mah. It was christmas eve, so we didnt waste anytime. Out we went to Xi Men Ding, which was like juz downstairs. Apparently Christmas is not widely celebrated in the country, there was no lavish countdown like new year, neither was the place jam packed with people. It was pretty comfy walking arnd, the weather is nice. Hunger pang strikes and we were busy looking arnd for food. We ended up at Ah Zong mee sua, supposingly damn nice according to reviews which lye siang read. We tot that it was only so - so. Mabbe becuz we din add enuf vingear for the mee sua. The girls went off for a shopping spree immediately, while we poor guys wonder along the street, until zhiyong friend, Muthu ( false name, acty was a girl), came arnd to bring us arnd. SHe was acty studying in NTU ( National Taiwan University) on exchange, so juz came along and bring us arnd. SHe acty intro us to this place call 西门红楼, which is a gay bar, we juz visited the area, but dint relli go in. So we wandered and wandered arnd, until finally decided to sit down at the cafe next to our good ground hotel. The cafe was pretty nice n quiet. so we juz sat arnd and chatted. Muthu told us abt her experiences so far, we also tried to ask for some suggestions abt our itinerary. She was relli a great help man. Suddenly, a magaician pop out, and showed us some of his tricks. We were amazed...( a bit) by his trick, and according to his card trick,zhiyong and me became couple. lol... wat the hell... We sat arnd until 12 +, the cafe was closing already, be4 gg back to room. The girls are so dissappointed by the price of the stuff at Xi Men Ding that they din relli buy anything at all... (Luckily we nv go shop with them sia... sit down n talk is the best... End of day 1... TBC... |
