Traffic Police Test Friday, July 27, 2007 After spending so much money taking lessons, finally took the TP today at SSDC. Much pressure on me for this test, as I was already an army driver, and somemore most of my army frens took and passed at first attempt. Time relli crawled as i waited at the test room, with the conflicting emotion of eagerness to get over n done wif it, and the gan cheong of taking test. all testee went abt drawing lot for test and i got myself route 7. My tester, Mr Rajasamy, did look a bit stern when i first saw him, but i rem eugene saying that CV testers were employed by us, so no need to be too gan cheong. Went about the circuit and completed it quite easily and proceed to driving route. It was drizzling and the road was wet, but there was little traffic until the mainroad back to sch. It was there where the lane change was challenging. I ended up causing vehicles to slow down and the tester dun look that happy. Back in debriefing room, more anixety as he announced my result. He tick here and there while he told me wat went wrong wif my driving. Finally he said, "14 points total, passed but u better go inprove ur lane change and dun clutch in uneccessary". Was so glad n relieved that i shook his hand v hard and thank him so many times. So happy that no need to spend any more moeny on these again. Gonna have my CV license in 2 weeks time. Weeeee... Convocation 2007 Thursday, July 26, 2007  After 4 years of mugging n slogging out, my sis finally graduated from EEE at NTU.Can see that she was v happy and was going arnd taking photo wif all her frens. The convocation took place at Nanyang Auditorium. The place was pretty packed and a bit messy, however the event was still quite smooth. Firstly all the professors and deans of EEE came in, in their robes( which is a bit like Harry Potter), which look a bit weird on some of them. Then there was the speech all that, followed closely by the presentation. A total of 500+ grad were there that day, which, make the whole ceremony quite boring. Everyone was frantically flipping thru the booklet to see how many pple were left be4 the ceremony end. In the end, The ceremony still managed to end in time. My sis went to take more photos after the ceremony while my parents n i went for refreshment. By the time she was done wif her photography, she looked so tired, yet satisfied.  I stole my sis robe and took this photo, but dun relli look nice in this robe... See next time i wear my own one then say bah... Jobby's Birthday Sunday, July 22, 2007  HaPPy Birthday Jobby!!! For the celebration, we went to an indian vegetarian restaurant at chinatown point. Cant relli believe that i acty gonna have a vegetarian meal... Anyway, this restaurant is acty a charity restaurant, which meant that we were free to pay watever we wished to pay. We called quite a spread of food, from masala dosa, chapathi, north n south indian dal, mushroom pizzalike thingy and a lot more. In short this meal is pretty much flour flour n a lot of flour. We were joking that this was a carbo-loading session. The best food is perhaps the mushroom pizza-like thingy, it has the correct mix of dal mushroom and chilli. The mango lassi, which is a yogourt+ fruit drink, is pretty thick n heavy on the taste but quite satisfying. Luckily, we had 2 indian doctor with us for the lunch too, and they are busy explaining wat kind of food we are eating and how to go abt eating them. Being curious, Matthew n I tried out the desserts. Kulfi, which is indian version of ice cream was a bit hard, but the sweetness was juz good. Din know that indian food can be acty quite good...  Back in office, we gave jobby the birthday presents that we bought.The girls spend lotsa time to replendish his wardrobe. Look how happy he was!!! Wanling eilliny charlene job n me enjoyed the cakes. Passport Monday, July 16, 2007 Heard from the news that government juz made another legislation that if a citizen loses passport for more than 2 times, they will nv be given a passport again. Unlike the last penalty of paying fines which double for every passport lost. Of cuz as usual they say that if you got valid reasons which are credible, then they will give chance and stuff. For those whose passport are not replaced, they can still applied to ICA for a temporary permit to go overseas and of cuz based on the discretion of the authority. Although it is wrong to lose passport and demand it to be replaced at free will, the penalty seems harsh i feel. Of cuz the reason given is that it act as a deterrence to prevent pple from losing passport, or rather being not careful. But certainly the current penalty seems sufficient liao. Moreover for the person who can never have the passport, it is something like losing a right. Juz imagine if you are a business traveller and have to apply to ICA every time for permit to go overseas for business purposes. A bit like jailed up in Singapore liao lo like tt. Now they say that if lose passport more than 2 times then cannot hold passport again, the next thing may be if u lose your IC for more than 2 times, they will bar you from holding IC. Personally think that it is quite ridiculous for them to make such law. Wonder y are tax payer paying so much tax for the minister to be so free and think of such stupid legislation... Well they always say Singapore law not not based on populists' views... kids nowadays Tuesday, July 10, 2007 Today went to see a chinese physician opposite united square. After the treatment i sat outside waiting for my medicine, that when i caught sight of a small kid wif his maid. The kid was trying to play with the door, and the maid knew that the kid's hands may get caught in between the door, was trying to stop him. The kid was furiously banging on the door and making a big commotion.Next he tugged n pulled the door trying to overpower the maid, but to no avail. He ended up hitting the maid repeatedly and she was pretty helpless over it. All these happened with the mother in close attendance, but she seems totally oblivious to the aciton of her kid. Mabbe pple will say tt the kid was young n ignorant, but i think the parent relli didnt play their part n educate the kid lo. I would have scolded my kid lo if i was the parent. kids nowadays...
